Doctoral dissertation "Kansainvälinen kolmiodraama?" ("International Triangle Drama?") explores the images of Finland in German as well as images of the FRG and the GDR in Finnish school geography textbooks during the Cold War. The study opens reciprocal perspectives to the history of national images, Finnish–German relations and international image policies. It broadens the scope of historical textbook research by investigating an atypical school subject, geography. The study also utilizes modern digital analysis tools and combines them with traditional historical research methods.
