Lucía researches global trends of foreign direct investments in the global South and technological advancement in Medellín, Colombia. Her research in Medellín focuses on IT investments and their potential for technological advancement in the urban economy. She has researched innovation districts in advanced and emerging economies as platforms for multinational enterprises' entry and tools of urban development. Her previous professional experience includes work as an architect and development cooperant.
