Biography

I currently work as a University Teacher at the Department of
Biochemistry. My research focuses in varying topics in the field of NMR
Metabolomics and Food Science. Current work is related to human milk composition in
relation to maternal stress (in collaboration with the FinnBrain Birth Cohort Study and University of California, Davis). Other research interests include honey and
secondary metabolites of Nordic berries.

Research
Human milk metabolomics; Botanical origin, quality and authenticity of honey; Effect of Northern latitudes on foods and plant phenotypes; Lipidomics; Structural elucidation (NMR)

Teaching

Plant secondary metabolites; Process-derived compounds; Food safety; Chair of Research Seminars in Molecular Food Sciences
