Biography

I graduated from the Faculty of Law in 2001 and from the Turku School of Economics in 2002. I started to work at the University of Turku in 2002. Before working in Pori, I worked at the Functional Foods Forum and at the Faculty of Law in Turku. Since 2006, I have worked at
the Turku School of Economics, Pori unit. Currently, I teach business law and responsible business as a senior lecturer. With Arja Lemmetyinen, we lead the research group Susberg. We study the issues that are at the intersection of sustainable development and brand equity. In our current projects, we focus on sustainable food systems and sustainable tourism. Since 2016, I have been adjunct professor of
food law at the Faculty of Law, University of Turku.



Research

My main research topic is sustainable food systems. I am particularly interested in the role of legal and regulatory tools in promoting innovation and systemic change. I have written for example about the regulations on insect foods and on probiotic functional foods. I am interested in evolutionary psychology as a metatheory explaining human behaviour, including behaviours related to food choice and morality. One further interest is measuring emotions from the human body, which we did in our nature tourism project in 2018



Teaching

My favourite courses to teach in Pori are Responsible Business and Environmental Law. I also like to teach the evolutionary bases of consumer behaviour for marketing students, and it is nice to participate the course on applied evolutionary psychology at the psychology department.

I also teach the courses on business law basics, contract law, company law, financial law, tax law, and employment law. This means I teach all the law courses at the Turku School of Economics, Pori unit. In addition to my own courses, I give some lectures on marketing law, international business, and Finnish consumer culture on other courses in Pori.
