Biography

Dr Kronlund is a senior lecturer in political science. 

In addition, she leads a Kone foundation funded project on the UN's legitimacy and transnational challenges at the Department of History and Ethnology, University of Jyväskylä. She currently also is the managing editor of the Pro et Contra. Books from the Finnish Political Science Associaton book series.

Previously she has worked as a senior reseach fellow at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, post doctoral researcher at the John Morton Center for North American studies, University of Turku and university teacher, University of Jyväskylä. She is a docent in political science (especially US politics), University of Jyväskylä.

Research

Anna Kronlund is a political scientist. She received her Ph.D. in political science at the University of Jyväskylä in 2013. Her doctoral dissertation ”Parliamentary Oversight of Exceptional Situations in a Presidential System. Debating the Reassertion of Constitutional Powers of the U.S. Congress” examined war and emergency power debates in the United States.

Her current research project is about the UN's legitimacy and transnational challenges. She is especially interested in the United States approach to multilateralism and international organizations, including the UN.
