Biografia

I did my PhD thesis in the Department of Organisms and Systems Biology at the University of Oviedo (Spain). My thesis topic was UV-B stress and recovery responses in the tree species Pinus radiata. After getting my PhD in 2016, I moved to Finland, where I have been working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Molecular Plant Biology Unit at the Department of Biochemistry. 



Tutkimus

I work within the frame of the research programs ”Cross-talk between light acclimation and defence reactions in plants”, led by Dr. Saijaliisa Kangasjärvi, and the Finnish Centre of Excellence “Molecular Biology of Primary Producers”, led by Academy Professor Eva-Mari Aro. My research focuses on elucidation of the regulatory signalling networks underlying stress responses in plants and their regulation. I combine light stress, including UV-B, microscopy, bioinformatics, transcriptomics and proteomics approaches. The overall aim of my research is understand stress response signalling pathways and the transfer of this knowledge to species with an economical interest.



Opetus

I am involved as a teacher in the Proteomics course of the Master's Degree Programme in Digital Health and Life Sciences. I also supervise Master's students and trainees.
