RESEARCH FACILITIES

1. EEG laboratories

From August 2002 the CCN is located at the building of the Faculty of Social Sciences (Address: Publicum, Assistentinkatu 7, 20014 University of Turku).

The laboratory is built around a computer network for speech synthesis and analysis of EEG, evoked potentials and psychophysical performance measurements. The laboratory currently has two neuroscan systems for EEG and ERP measurements.

A wide variety of behavioral paradigms and stimulus setups can be applied during EEG measurements. The unit works in close co-operation with laboratories of phonetics and psychology and clinical departments of the Turku University Central Hospital.

2. fMRI

The fMRI activation studies are performed at the Turku University Central Hospital (Department of Radiology) using 1.5 T Siemens Symphony MRI scanner.

Stimulation setups for various modalities are available, as well as advanced programs for image processing and statistical analysis. A variety of stimulus setups are available also at the PET Centre.

3. PET

The PET activations (oxygen-15) are performed at the Turku PET Centre (Turku University Central Hospital).
